The latter resigned, Bottas he had everything before a good race, Hamilton however, he and his team did stupid things and through red light drove to change wheels.
That's right today belonged another herowho made the race tense, exciting and watchable. Heroes bearing names Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz in Lance stroll. Here are their statements.
Pierre Gasly, AlphaTauri - winner"Isn't that amazing? What's going on here? What a crazy race. Understandably, we benefited from the interruption of the race, but the victory did not fall into our lap, our car was extremely fast for the whole weekend. A lot has happened in my life over the past 18 months and I have had to eat a lot. But then the first podium, now the first win, I don’t even know what to say. I admit I’m struggling to even understand what happened here. This team has done a lot for me, here I received my chance in Formula 1, then I was able to celebrate my first podiums with the boys in Brazil last year and now another victory. I can’t thank you enough for everything."
Carlos Sainz, McLaren - second place"I really did my best, it was amazing out there. I would never have thought I would ever say that as a McLaren racer, but I am disappointed with second place. If you are so close to winning, then it is in the nature of a racer to stay focused if he fails. Although I realize this sounds weird. But there is another aspect. We had enough speed today to win second place behind Hamilton in normal race conditions. If I stand here like the others now, I know we did our best and I have nothing to complain about. And that is why you must be satisfied with such a result as well. The whole racing weekend we had a fast race car, as a team we did a great job and we can be very happy with the team result as Lando won fourth place. Nothing was given to us here in Italy, second place is deserved. Everyone at McLarn can be proud."
Lance Stroll, Racing Point - third place"I am very happy with the third place because a lot of time has passed since Baku 2017. The feeling was very good that I was able to stand on the podium again. But deep down I know we could win this race as well. The gruesome second start of the race ruined everything. It was bad, my wheels were spinning too much, so some overtook me."
