WOLFF wants to split the TEAM HEAD position into two people

Toto Wolff, the head of the Mercedes team, has now made it even clearer that he will have a new role in the team next year.

Current contract Wolff with the team Mercedes expires at the end of this year, its future with silver arrows and v Formulas 1 however, it remains a mystery. But in terms of the 2021 season, it is Austrian stressed that he remains at Mercedes, but is not yet sure in what role.

But it is increasingly likely departure from the main role in the team since Wolff doubts that the classic job of team boss still has a place in today’s modern Formulas 1. "I'm not sure the concept of a Formula One team boss still works,”He told Channel 4. "I am responsible for 2000 people. 1000 in the engine factory and a thousand in the chassis factory. Should one person really bear full responsibility? I loved doing that, but maybe we should split that role in the future. This would probably be the right structure for any organization, but I haven’t defined it correctly yet."

In addition to his health, which Wolff is overwhelmed by, he also mentions a family suffering from his absence to share the role of team leadership.

Wolff he added that the current role in the team is Mercedes in the hybrid period brought so much success, demanded a tax on his health. “I have been doing this with all my heart and energy for eight years. The question is whether this is sustainable. Doesn’t your family life suffer because of this? Doesn’t your health suffer? I had severe migraines, which is something completely new to me. Your mind also struggles with congestion. I believe everyone has a shelf life in some roles. I don’t want to go back from great to good because then someone else would have to take over my role. It’s a moment of thinking for me. It is a high level of intensity. What I do and what we all do on the team do is seek perfection."
