GP BAHRAIN, qualifications: HAMILTON from the first starting position, both FERRARI dropped out in Q2

The qualifying part of the first chapter of the desert trilogy was, as expected, won by Lewis Hamilton, ahead of teammates Bottas and Verstappn.

Under the headlights of the racetrack in To Sakhir he was the first to set foot on the track George Russell, while the other nineteen racers waited as the track was expected to get faster and faster during the qualifiers. Among the better racers, he drove as the first fast lap Verstappen, which over time 1: 28,9 minutes also set a reference point for everyone else.

The events only became more lively in the last seven minutes Q1, when most of the racers took to the track, and in the end they pulled short Giovinazzi, RäikkÜnen, Magnussen, Grosjean in Latifs. Before that, he had to work hard to break into Q2 Charles Leclerc, who saved himself with fifteenth place, and again the promotion in Q2 also secured the already mentioned Russell.

V Q2 there is an emphasis on tires, as the top ten must start on the tires used in this part of the qualifiers. Many have therefore tried to break into Q1 medium compound tiresso they don’t have to start with the soft ones tomorrow.

The second part of the qualifications was enriched Carlos Sainz, who, after a failure that blocked his rear wheels, spun in the first corner and stopped on the track. The management of the race was forced to cut the red flag, but it all continued soon after established plan.

Both Ferraris got stuck in Q2. Sebastian Vettel will start as eleventh, Leclerc is in 12th place.

He then threw the glove to his rivals with a time of 1: 27,5 minutes Lewis Hamilton, which was for both racers Ferrari far too fast, as they failed to even qualify for Q3. Sebastian Vettel finished in 11th place, his teammate Leclerc and a place lower. They kept them company Stroll, Russell in Sainz, who of course could not drive a fast lap. The Canadian obviously had problems as he was more than a second behind his Q1 result in the second half.

Max Verstappen will start from the third starting position tomorrow, Alex Albon is a place lower.

He is in the third part of the qualifications Hamilton again let it be known that he is interested in a new best starting position, which would be his third on the track in To Sakhir, and with it I would equate with Sebastian Vettl, who has started three times in the desert from the best starting position. In the second attempt, he improved his time by another an additional four tenths, beating his teammate by just under three tenths Bottas, and in the second starting row both racers of the team landed Red Bull.
