Valtteri BOTTAS: ROSBERG'S methods do not come into consideration for me

Valtteri Bottas has experienced many lessons from egoism in the course of his career so far, but he does not intend to use the methods used by his predecessor at Mercedes.

Valtteri Bottas he admitted that during his career in Formula 1 he became more selfish. “If you want to win, you have to think about yourself. This is a lesson I have definitely learned, ” the Mercedes driver told 'Sky UK' after testing in Bahrain.

Finn joined Mercedes in 2017 as a successor Nice Rosberg, who retired as world champion. Unlike Rosberg, who was able to resist Lewis Hamilton, Bottas with a few flashes per season he can’t keep up with the Briton.

"I have to think of ourselves," so he repeats Bottas. “I have to take into account that a career in Formula 1 does not last forever. I don’t want to regret anything if at some point I decide to end my career as a driver in F1. I don't know when it will be, but I want to know that I can only do it for myself and not for others, " adds the 31-year-old.

Nico Rosberg completely changed his approach in the 2016 season and beat Lewis Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas says Rosberg's methods are out of the question for him.

Rosberg is in the 2016 season after bitter defeats against Hamilton went on a whole new path and resisted the psychological game. Even at home, he focused entirely on racing and even moved into his own bedroom, away from his wife.

"Pretty extreme methods," he says Bottas regarding the Rosberg way. "Such drastic measures to be able to focus even more on success are out of the question for me." Nevertheless, the Finn does not want to rule out finding a different approach for himself this season.

“Some things don’t, other things maybe yes. But, as I have repeatedly pointed out, I am not Nico. No Valtteri, ” explains Finn and adds: “I want to try things that help me make the most of my potential. The main focus is always on what I can give and how I can become more consistent and take advantage of every opportunity I get, ” concludes the 31-year-old from Lahti.
