ALONSO: The feeling with the new 18-inch TIRES is good

Pirelli managed to complete their last 18-inch tire test for the 2021 season last Thursday, which they conducted at the Bahrain racetrack.

Teams Ferrari in Alpine F1 provided for this purpose converted race car, which are Italian manufacturer Pirelli allowed to collect new data on tires to be introduced in Formula 1 next year.

While it is Ferrari on Tuesday with the racers Carlos Sainzem in Charles Leclerc drove together 144 rounds, tested on Wednesday Esteban Ocon, team racer Alpine F1 and collected 100 rounds. On Thursday, however, it was the turn of the experienced Fernando Alonso - also Alpine F1 - who drove himself 144 rounds.

In addition to the Alpine F1 team, Ferrari also tested the new 18-inch Pirelli tires in Bahrain.

"It was a great test day and the feel on these new tires was good,”Is Sleep told colleagues from MotorsportWeek.com. "The new tires are in a stimulating phase of development. Hopefully, with all the laps we took today, we will help Pirelli to better understand his tires."

Alonso drove 144 laps in Bahrain for the needs of Pirelli, and the experienced veteran was satisfied with the feeling with these tires.

Nine 18 inch tires are one of upcoming policy changes for the coming year 2022, the purpose of which is with new race cars improve only racing and increase competitiveness at the top of the Formula 1 field.
