MAZEPIN should return to FORMULA 2

Formula 1 is the highest class of racing and most racers enter the first league of motorsport through Formula 3 and Formula 2. But the way in the opposite direction never happens, although this would not be a bad idea for some racers.

In the new edition of the Dutch podcast Slipstream, is Allard Kalff in Kees van de Grint discussed team developments Haas in this year’s championship and of course especially about both racers of the American team.

First, they both talked about Mick Schumacher. "He drove a solid racing weekend. He made no mistakes and always retreated nicely to the racers who overtook him for the lap. He does his job very well and that's all he can do,He said van de Grint. For Schumacher there is not much chance with Haas. “You can't do much with this car,”He continues van de Grint. "The only thing possible is that he competes a bit with Williams, which of course is still a sad story. He drives very well in that sense. He is doing ten times better than his teammate."

Dutch colleagues talked about the Haas team and both racers in their podcast after the race in Portugal. While they spoke highly of Mick Schumacher, this cannot be said in the case of teammate Nikita Mazepin, who Kees van de Grint would prefer to send back to Formula 2 - Photo: HB Press

Kalff in van de Grint however, they have far fewer positive words about Schumacher’s teammate Nikiti Mazepin. In football it is possible that due to poor results from first league you are moving to lower class. According to van de Grint it would not be bad if this were the case also in Formulas 1. "I would suggest that a racer like Mazepin should drive decent lap times, otherwise he would have to go back to Formula 2.“As is well known, it is Russian racer after the first three races of the season in deep shadows teammate Schumacher, and on top of that he makes unnecessary mistakes, for the last one when he held back Sergio Pereza, but also earned his first penalty of the year.

Many believe that Nikita Mazepin is behaving like a prince, although he has not shown anything yet, but because his father is a donor to the Haas team, the young Russian thinks he can afford everything - Photo: HB Press

There is nothing gentle about it either Peter Kohl, a colleague from the portal Sport1, which is Mazepina literally deciphered. “Nikita Mazepin is well on his way to losing all sympathy in paddock. Surprising how he stands in the race in the way of the leaders. He ignores everything and everyone, insults his racing engineer over the radio so everyone can hear. He acts like a prince. From the beginning of the season, he has been in the deep shadow of his teammate both in qualifying and in the race. If his father hadn't been a big donor to the team, his days in Formula 1 would have started to count down a long time ago. A truly thankless profession. The young man would definitely deserve some public verbal muffin."
