Links between Abiteboul and team Alpine became clearer at the Portuguese Grand Prix, where it became clear that 43-year-old Parisian performs the role of consultant to the company Mechachrome, which we also remember from Formula 1 and still works closely with Renault in preparing drive units for the team Alpine.
Abiteboul was otherwise a Renault executive for several years, but after the expiration of the contract in 2020, they were not extended, and he was replaced Luca de Meo. Shortly afterwards, he became a consultant to the company Mechachrome, where, in addition to Formula 1, it also participates in the development of powertrains for other series.
