Formula 1 has revealed the race weekend schedule in the UK, where we will see the usual qualifiers as early as Friday night and the premier sprint race on Saturday instead of the usual qualifiers.
Silverstone will be the venue for the first of three planned experimental sprint races this season. It will be a 100-kilometer or 17-lap non-stop race, which will determine the order of Sunday's race for the British Grand Prix, and the qualifying training will take place on Friday.
The first free practice will be scheduled for Friday at 15:30 our time, and the qualifications will follow three and a half hours later, ie at 19:13. On Saturday, we will see the second free practice before 17pm before the sprint race, which will start at 30pm and is expected to last until 18pm. The final order will determine the starting line of Sunday's race, which will start at 16 pm, and only the first three racers will win points.
Organizers hope the race weekend will attract more spectators due to later start times, and Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali welcomes the teams' support for a format that will also be used during the race weekend in Monza and possibly Brazil.
