Formula 1 2022: These RACERS already have guaranteed SEATS

Who will get a second seat at Mercedes? And what the sporting future looks like George Russell? What he will do next year Kimi Raikkonen? Which teams need two new drivers? There are still many questions open before the 1 Formula 2022 season.

On the other hand, some drivers have already signed long-term contracts, which already provide them with seats in the 2022 season. Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc in Max Verstappen for example, they have seats secured years in advance, while others are in great concern about pursuing a career at the highest level of motorsport.

Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract, which expired at the end of 2021, for a further two years and will remain a Mercedes driver until 2023 inclusive, after having previously extended it for only one year. Valtteri Bottas the contract expires at the end of the year. It is still unknown who will drive next to Hamilton in 2022.

They will also be driving for the traditional British team in 2022 Lando Norris in Daniel Ricciardo. In 2019, Norris signed an early contract extension until 2022 inclusive. In May 2021, he extended the contract for a few more years. Ricciardo joined McLarn in 2021 and will remain there “for a few years,” even after 2021, at least until the end of 2022.

Sebastian Vettel he has been driving for the team since this year, but he should also be in the green car next year as well, as he has signed a multi-year contract, the duration of which is officially unknown. Aston Martin posted on Twitter: Vettel will drive until 2023. Vettel's current teammate Lance stroll has a contract until the end of this season, but the son of Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll has a good chance of continuing his career on the team.

Fernando Alonso did not return to Formula 1 for just one year. He will drive for Alpine at least until the end of 2022. Esteban Ocon stays with the French team even longer. As announced before the French Grand Prix, the Frenchman is tied to the Alpine until 2024.

Ferrari

Charles Leclerc has the most long-term contract in F1.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz remain teammates in the traditional Italian Formula One team. Leclerc signed a long-term contract up to and including the 1 season in 2019. No Formula 2024 driver currently has a longer-term contract. Also Carlos Sainz he can think at least in the medium term, as he has a contract with Ferrari until the end of the 2022 season.

The other team Red Bullbut almost traditionally offers its drivers only one-year contracts. This is also true of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunodo, who have seats secured only until the end of 2021. What will happen after that is still open.

Nikita mazepin in Mick Schumacher they both signed multi-year contracts with the American team. The exact duration of the contracts is not known, but in any case, they will be members of the Haas team next season as well.

Williams

Nicholas latifi will probably stay with Williams for another season. In 2020, he signed a (most likely) three-year contract, which of course also includes the 2022 season. George Russell expires at the end of 2021. So Williams will most likely vacate the seat now occupied by Russell.
