ASTON MARTIN is considering a NEW COLOR for 2022

There is a high probability that we will see an Aston Martin race car with a new exterior next season.

The reason for this, however, is that the current dark green color not attractive enough. Especially on television green doesn’t show the full advantage and the race car is often similar to black Mercedes. The team believes this needs to change.

Otmar Szafnauer, team boss Aston Martin, is very happy with the color in a real environment. “I think it’s a beautiful color, especially in the sun and when you look at it in a real environment. But I think we need to look at how color can stand out a little more on television without losing its green image. I don't know if we can do that, but that's one of the things we try to do, just to make sure it stands out from some other dark race cars on TV,”He told colleagues from Motorsport.com.

Before the race US GP, Yippee Saffron let it be known that they are now studying it closely color scheme for next year. “We had a meeting with the senior management of the team and we started talking about colors for next year. How many cars will we paint next year and in what colors.“But it’s not just about the color image. “Weight is also a big factor. So the color shouldn’t be heavier, but right now we’re just talking about everything."

One of new rules next year is minimum weight 792 kilograms. This one has increased recently, but the teams think it will difficult to approachwithout using much expensive materials to reduce weight. This, however, is related to budget ceiling. Because the teams will want to save as much money as possible and still try to get closer to the minimum prescribed weight.
