For the sprint race, NORRIS proposes an INDIVIDUAL RUN on time for the starting ORDER

Lando Norris, a McLaren racer, is of the opinion that Formula 1 should once again bet on an individual race on time for the start schedule as part of the renovation of the race weekend with a sprint race.

formula 1 ended in Brazil last weekend third sprint race (or sprint qualifying), with this race spiced with a breakthrough Lewis Hamilton from the beginning. The first two, however, were more boring.

They will be held accountable now Formula 1 together with the teams discussed possible changes for the summer 2022. Because then it is planned six sprint races, which are supposed to be more independent. The focus of the debate, however, is what to do with other simple training on Saturday, which is scheduled before the sprint race and has finally been criticized for being irrelevant to fans and perhaps only useful to teams in being able to collect tire data.

Lando Norris is of the opinion that this one should second training fully to give up and replace it with one-hour qualifications, which would determine the starting order for the later sprint race. “Personally, I would have preferred to change so that on Friday we would have qualifiers for the start schedule of Sunday’s race, and then on Saturday morning qualifiers with individual time trial for the start order of the afternoon sprint race. So an individual ride, as it used to be. I think this could be a lot more tense than the other workout we have now."

The driver of team McLaren continues: “So Saturday could be arranged a little differently as part of the racing weekend. A sprint race would no longer mean anything for Sunday's main race," so Norris. This year, the sprint race determined Sunday’s starting order. As for qualifications, is Formula 1 from the summer 2003 to 2005 experimented with different formats, but was never able to unify into one system that would be good for both teams and fans. From year 2006 efforts to resolve it have been abandoned. They introduced the current dropout format with Q1, Q2 and Q3.
