AUSTIN is eliminating annoying HUMPS on its COTA track

The Curcuit of the Americas (COTA) is currently undergoing a major overhaul as they seek to prevent a recurrence of the unrest sparked by annoying humps at Formula One and MotoGP races last season.

Two-wheeler racers from the series MotoGP were particularly affected when they were last September visited this racetrack and even went so far as to be threatened to boycott, if there are no changes before this year's return in April.

Before arrival Formula 1 at a later date last season in October, they were otherwise done cosmetic changes by grinding the affected areas, but the criticism has not subsided. What’s more, Ferrari’s sporting director Laurent mekies he remarked that they were humps worse compared to a previous Formula 1 visit to Austin in 2019. In addition, COTA worked with external consultants to ensure that the new asphalt, especially base, uniform and aligned, which will create an ideal track for future races and events."
