ASTON MARTIN is considering its OWN ENGINES for the period from 2026

Aston Martin is considering developing its own engines for the period from 2026 onwards. According to German colleagues Formel1.de, Lawrence Stroll would do so contrary to the advice of friend Toth Wolff.

With the arrival Lawrence Stroll it became clear that the team could no longer be content with midfield places. Stroll he wants to Aston Martin take it to the top of Formula 1 and is ready for it invest a lot. A new factory is being built, by summer 2023 however, it should also be set up new wind tunnel. The total investment will be honey 150 and 200 million euros.

With this project Stroll shows that he wants to bring the team to the level Ferrari, Mercedesa in Red Bull. In addition to a larger new factory, they will be strengthened staffing and as a team grew, with Stroll senior not hesitating to bring in experts from Red Bull Racing and even from the team Mercedes, his friend Toto Wolff.

Da Stroll in doing so, always choose more its direction, is also evident from the commentary Andrew Green, technical director of the team. As reported by Formel1.de, Green revealed that the team is exploring the possibility developing your own engine from 2026 onwards, when new regulations come into force in this area. Similar to Red Bull with his project Red Bull powertrains in Milton Keynes, would also Aston Martin developed its engines at the Silverstone plant.

That, however, would run counter to the advice Tota Wolff, who advises his friend against this. Also Wolff is a shareholder Aston Martin and so he has a word, but he seems to have Stroll different plans. In any case, it will Aston Martin remained connected to Mercedes until 2025.
