Lewis Hamilton has completed his second free Formula 1 training session for the Australian Grand Prix in thirteenth place, with more than a second and a half behind Charles Leclerc.
The German team is still facing by dolphinizing their W13 race car, and Hamilton admitted that no change of settings it doesn’t help limit the problem. "Currently, no change is helping us," admitted the Briton. “Once we think we have succeeded, we make changes and the efficiency of the car does not improve. We made some changes for the second workout, but it was harder for me. ”
Hamilton said it was race car tricky, as even a good ride does not help, so he will have to come to terms with his current form. "It simply came to our notice then. We will have to race with what we have. I try to drive faster, we try to catch up with the others, but even when I drive a good lap, I am 1.2 seconds slower. ”
Team mate George Russell finished the afternoon training in eleventh place, but the Briton explained that the car has never been he didn't jump that hard, as at the Melbourne racetrack. "The car is bouncing hard," he admitted. “He’s probably never jumped as much as he does now, but I think we’re going to have to come to terms with that for now. We think the race car is the fastest. We may be wrong, so we need to continue to study all the data and understand what is going on. We went left, right and in the middle with the settings, but the end result is the same every time. We need to understand why this is so. ”
