Liberty Medium he has many ambitions and wants Formula 1, which is majority owned by them, to make it bigger. One way they plan to do this is adding races on the calendar.

With this year's record as a calendar covers 23 races, there have been many complaints by teams and racers. All employees of Formula 1 teams are complaining about too little free time in season. That’s why they are this year Thursdays for racers and members of all teams officially canceled, so there is some more free time between races. But in practice, this move seems to bring only little improvement, as reported by the Dutch The Telegraph. Little has changed, as racers still have many on Thursdays interviews in PR obligations.

Racers Association GDPA has sent a letter to Formula 1 dignitaries expressing their views dissatisfaction with a new form of racing weekend. This is to be discussed in the context of the race in Imoli. The biggest change in the introduction of the new format is official FIA press conferences, which were postponed to Friday. As a result, Thursday is thus without an obligation to the FIA. The solution for free Thursday will therefore in all probability be in in the hands of the teams themselves and in the arrangements they have with sponsors. So we expect to hear more about this during the racing weekend in Imola.
