Toyota C-HR Prologue: A look at the NEW GENERATION

The compact SUV from the Japanese manufacturer Toyota has optically transformed into the big brother Aygo X.

With a new one Toyota C-HR Prologue is giving the automaker a glimpse of the second generation of its compact crossover coupe and shows how the unusual design of its predecessor, launched in Europe in 2016, has been sharpened and further developed.

Current Toyota CHR, whose concept vehicle celebrated its premiere at the motor show in Paris in 2014, was designed at Toyota's European Design Development Center in southern France. This is where the new Toyota C-HR Prologue comes from, where it is a first, but very real vision of the car, which will soon be seen on European roads. The design of the new model is provocative and polarizing like its predecessor, but according to the manufacturer, it promises just as much driving pleasure.

Like its predecessor, the new Toyota C-HR Prologue attracts attention with its design.

Bigger wheels with shorter overhangs give Toyota C-HR Prologue an even sportier look, while at the same time offering more interior space compared to the current model. "Hammerhead” face on the front of the vehicle is part 3D architecture with intertwined shapes and a characteristic light signature. A similar look can also be found in the new one Prius in Aygu X. Narrower headlights and grille openings emphasize the modern look and give the C-HR Prologue “the piercing gaze of a shark ready to charge forward", they wrote at the manufacturer and thereby linked to forge, a type of shark.

Interlacing different shapes it extends over the entire body to the rear of the vehicle. To two colors metallic silver and black, they add a third color accent to the Toyota C-HR Prologue and this is it sulfur yellow. Due to this special color combination, the model catches the eye at first glance. We know similar elements from Ayga X, but it also has them Kia Niro.

The front part is supposed to resemble a hammerhead, a type of shark.

Offer of powertrains C-HR Prologue in addition to the hybrid version, it will also include a plug-in hybrid with batteries made in Europe. Currently, only two hybrid versions are available on the European market C-HR Prologue and reach system capacity 122 or 184 hp. It is still unclear whether the C-HR Prologue will borrow the new plug-in hybrid from Prius. The new generation offers system power 223 BAM. This is ensured by a 2,0 hp 148-liter gasoline engine and a 160 hp electric motor on the front axle.
