AC SCHNITZER converted the BMW i4 police car

The initiative "Tune it! Safe!” advertises safe conversions of vehicles in road traffic and the German police also added theirs.

By AC Schnitzer a converted police car? Why not. In Germany, meanwhile, it has already become a tradition to convert police cars. Because also blue-silver German guardians of marriages do not shy away from remakes. At least once a year. And then with special attention to the fact that the conversion gets permission for the roads.

Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure has been running an awareness initiative in Germany for 17 years about safe and legal car remanufacturing. The flagship of this project, which goes by the name "Tune It! Safe!", is always an improved police car, and this year it was the police's turn BMW i4, which was undertaken at AC Schnitzer and this electric police car has a distinctly sharp look.

The police i4 also has new rims with tires from Hankook, the sponsor of the initiative

With various aerodynamic accessories (air deflectors) that we know in the world of motorsport, the front end is a bit more menacing. There are two embedded in the toned kidney LED lights, and new slat inserts and larger mudguards are visible on the sides. Two-tone silver and black rims they are 20 inches and come with tires Ventus S1 Evo 3 manufacturer Hankook, who is also the sponsor of this project. At the rear, there is also a shiny black spoiler, which is intended to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle. The chassis has also been changed, namely with new shock absorbers that increase the height BMW reduce by around 20 to 25 millimeters.

The interior was also beautified. Gas pedal and the brake are made of aluminum, for the controller iDrive it has a "black-line" cover, and they have already added an aluminum key ring. Is he a police officer? BMW i4 became stronger after processing? Unfortunately, no. At AC Schnitzer they didn't tamper with the BMW's powertrain and left the power 544 BAM unchanged for this M50 version. That should be enough for fight against bandits on the roads. At least until the battery dies and the police are forced to take a charging break.

AC Schnitzer also made some changes in the interior.

But of course it would be approval performance changes the car is much more delicate from a legal point of view. We have also been able to see that over the years processors they rarely modify the powertrains of electric cars to change their power or range. However, we can say that the acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h 3,9 seconds is sufficient in many police intervention situations.
