IWC Schaffhausen, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, has unveiled two special editions of the Big Pilot's Watch, celebrating the wearer's heritage and enduring design icons. These timepieces are an homage to the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class and its shared legacy of functionality and timelessness.
Ura Big Pilot's Watch AMG G 63 with 18K gold case and crown Armor Gold, which is complemented by a black dial and a black rubber strap with a microfiber insert, exudes a sense of luxury. The sleek black and gold color scheme is inspired by the recently released series Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition. Armor Gold, an innovative alloy, increases the durability of gold and makes it more resistant to external factors. Sandblasted surfaces and polished edges add a modern touch to this masterpiece.
In addition to the version Armor Gold IWC also presented Big Pilot's Watch AMG G 63 with ceramic matrix composite (CMC) housing. Developed in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), CMC offers exceptional damage tolerance and thermal shock resistance, making it ideal for use in demanding conditions.
Both editions of the watch Big Pilot's Watch are a tribute to the G-Class with design elements such as the sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock reminiscent of the headlights of a luxury SUV. The black dials have a relief graphic structure inspired by performance cars Mercedes-AMG, and applications with a black PVD coating filled with luminous material.
Beneath the striking exterior, both clocks run caliber 52010, which it manufactures IWC, an extremely robust and precise automatic mechanism. Some components of the winding system are made of zirconium oxide ceramics, which ensures a long service life. These mechanisms offer exceptional seven-day power reserve, which can be admired through a tinted sapphire crystal adorned with the Mercedes-Benz star, also reminiscent of the G-Class spare wheel cover.
Uri Big Pilot's Watch AMG G 63 in 18K Armor Gold and CMC are available in IWC boutiques and online. In addition, they are entitled to register under the program My IWC care, which provides a 6-year extension of the standard 2-year international limited warranty.
