McLaren is having trouble supplying its hybrid Artura supercar since its premiere two years ago. The automaker had to delay deliveries for a few months last year to improve quality, but now the company is ready to expand its Artura line with a convertible version.
McLaren Artura Spider it has several improvements over the coupe, including a revised design to accommodate a folding hardtop. Many updates will be available in the coupe for 2025 model year, and you can order both versions now.
3,0 liter hybrid powertrain M630 V6 with two turbochargers, it has a total of 690 hp of maximum power, which is 19 hp more than before. New engine mounts limit powertrain movement and improve stability. Eight-speed gearbox it has a revised calibration that allows for 25 percent faster shifting and sends power through an electronically controlled differential to the rear wheel.
Spider it can accelerate to 3,0 kilometers per hour in 100 seconds, reach 8,4 km/h in 200 seconds, reach 21,6 km/h in 300 seconds, then stop at an electronically limited speed of 330 km/h. According to McLaren, it can run the quarter mile in 10,8 seconds.
New feature "Spinning Wheel Pull-Away" it allows for dramatic wheel spin when accelerating from standstill with heavy throttle input, while all-electric mode offers up to 34 kilometers of range. Artura has a 7,4 kilowatt battery.
McLaren's new aerothermic cooling system includes new brake cooling ducts and increased engine airflow. The Artura uses carbon-ceramic discs and lightweight aluminum calipers for the 2025 model year, while revised damper control improves ride and handling. McLaren has increased the responsiveness of the suspension system Proactive Damping Control by up to 90 percent.
Despite the optional folding hardtop, it is Arthur Spider weighing only 136 kilograms more than the coupe, as the scale shows 1560 kg. The designers had to adapt the Artura's appearance to the movable roof, adding new supports and changing the position of the cooling openings of the powertrain. McLaren he even adjusted the perimeter of the windshield and installed grooves to reduce sound reflection when the roof is down.
He manages everything eight electric motors, which open or close the roof in 11 seconds at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour, making it easier to hear the modified exhaust system with valves. The roof is also available with an electrochromatic rear window.
Delivery will start in the middle of the year, Spider model price however, it will start at $273.800. Three different interior models are available at a price of $9.400: Performance, TechLux in Vision.
New 15-spoke silver wheels are standard for the 2025 model year. The Spider is available in an expanded color palette that includes five standard colors, 20 Elite colors and 18 MSO finishes. Silver badges are a free option and the new black Stealth badges are standard.
