The new Lancia Ypsilon got a new hybrid powertrain with 100 hp

The hybrid Ypsilon costs several thousand euros less than the electric one and can already be ordered.

Model offer Lancia Ypsilon is expanding as the company has introduced a new hybrid version. It will be sold together with the electric model, which was presented at the beginning of this year.

The automaker didn't reveal many details, but said the model has a 1,2-liter three-cylinder engine, six-speed e-DCT automatic transmission and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This configuration allows the car to a relatively modest power of 74 kW (100 hp).

Given that low number, it's no surprise that the hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a leisurely 9,3 seconds. The model achieves maximum speed 190 km/h, however, the B-segment premium hatchback is more focused on economy than speed.

Lancia also said that the hatchback can be driven only on electricity for short distances, as two functions are available e-Creeping in e-Queuing. The company claims that the powertrain provides the best of both worlds, offering versatility and "respect for the environment".

Similar to the electric car, the hybrid model is also presented in a version Edizione Limitata Cassina. That's why the model has a familiar blue exterior with LED light units and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The company did not mention any styling changes, but the hybrid has additional intakes and a visible exhaust.

The price in Italy starts at 28.000 EUR, which is considerably less than 40.000 EUR, as much as Lancia claims for the electric model Cassina Launch Edition. The hybrid version can be ordered now, but it won't stay on the market for long, as it will Lancia in 2028 became exclusively electric. As part of this effort, all new models introduced from 2026 onwards will be exclusively electric.
