Before the race for the German GP

This weekend, the next race is scheduled, in Hockenheim, Germany, which is likely to say goodbye as the organizer of F1 races. Will the exciting and tense Silverstone race be repeated in Germany, or will we once again witness the boredom driven by the two Mercedes race cars?

At last year’s German GP race held at the Nürburgring, one mistake on a slippery track was enough and Sebastian Vettel got stuck in a sandy excursion zone and was left without the much-coveted home win with Ferrari. To some extent, this also meant a turnaround in the championship, as since then, Mercedes has shown muscle and sovereignly brought the championship to an end.

Whether Ferrari and of course local Sebastian Vettel will be able to repeat last year’s show is hard to believe. The Reds have too many problems with the car, which is not only worse than Mercedes, but judging by the last two races also from Red Bulla. Vettel, however, will have to correct his own mistakes, because in Silverstone he honestly cut her past when he crashed into Verstappn’s backside. Of course, it is worth mentioning that the German is fighting with blunt weapons this year and wants to achieve a better result by force. Although his team-mate Charles Leclerc is showing better performances - especially in the qualifiers - it must be acknowledged that even the young Monaco is not uprooting trees. To some extent, he only picks up what both Mercedes racers leave him.

We believe that there will be a lot of orange again in Hockenheim this weekend - as it was in Austria. The Netherlands is not far away, so young Max Verstappen can hope for a lot of support from the stands. And Max is in a rush at the time, the race is very smart and fast, and his fight with Leclerc at the Silverstone race was a real treat for the fans. We finally experienced a race where there was neither reason nor time to sleep on the couch.

And another curiosity on the sidelines of a racing weekend in Hockenheim. Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, will drive some demonstration laps on Saturday and Sunday with his father’s Ferrari F2004 race car, with which Michael won his fifth title with the Maranello team.
