Nick HEIDFELD is testing and developing the PININFARIN BATTISTA electric hyperracer

The German racer became a Pininfarina test driver through his former employer Mahindre Racing for which he raced in Formula E. The development of the hypercar was taken over by Rene Wollmann, who had previously been involved in the manufacture of racing cars for Mercedes-AMG.

“Nick drives a test car - a mule that has the chassis and powertrains of a series Battista. Most birth problems have already been fixed. We are currently achieving 80 percent of our performance with the test car. This means that our performance is currently equal to the most powerful hypercar that uses an internal combustion engine,He commented Wollman.

He added: “In the tests attended by Nick Heidfeld, we were able to fine-tune all the aerodynamics, we noticed a significant increase in the potential of the Battista compared to our original expectations. In the coming months, we will finally develop an electric hyperracer that will produce 1.900 hp and 2.300 Nm of torque in different driving modes to suit different circumstances. Our customers are very excited to be able to get to know the limits of their car after purchase together with the former Formula 1 and Formula E racer - Nick Heidfeld. Nick became our ambassador, collaborator and friend. "

The Pininfarina Battista Anniversario will be available in just five copies.

Serial Battista wanted to present it recently at the Geneva International Motor Show, but due to the coronavirus they postponed it to the summer when the company will Pininfarina celebrated 90th anniversary.

They will also present a special series Battista Anniversary, which will be limited to five copies, each of which will cost 2,9 million euros. "My grandfather always wanted Pininfarina to have a range of cars under his own brand, and the Battista Anniversario is the one that combines a rich history with the future of the brand," said Pininfarina's first husband, Paolo Pininfarina.
