ASTON MARTIN AMB 001: British luxury brand also on two wheels

Next year, the British will present their first two-wheeled achievement, which they are developing in collaboration with Brough Superior.

Bo James Bond for the villains soon going wild with an Aston Martin on two wheels? The British sports car brand is testing its first motorcycle, named AMB 001. They are preparing the matter together with the company Upper Brough. The mentioned company is already between the years 1919 in 1940 made legendary motorcycles, and four years ago it was brought back to life.

Aston Martin in Upper Brough they recently launched an extensive test program on the racetrack with the AMB 001 Pau-Arnos in France. The photos show a prototype in typical Aston Martin camouflage. They will make everything 100 copies, which are intended for racing, and according to the factory's plans, the first customers should get their copies by the end this year.

Thierry Henriette, CEO of the company Upper Brough, describes the AMB 001 in more detail: "One of the most important design features of the AMB 001 is the aluminum fin, which runs under the saddle along the entire length of the carbon fiber tank and ends at the rear of the motorcycle."

The element that holds the fin and supports the saddle is one of the areas where we resorted to the unique knowledge of the company Meccano ID. Mecano ID has joined the project to make an exclusive motorcycle AMB 001 applied their specific knowledge in the field of carbon fibers acquired in space industry.

While track tests focus mainly on the driving characteristics of the motorcycle, tests on the test bench are carried out in parallel, in order to further streamline the development process. Aston Martin AMB 001 otherwise it is powered by a forced-charge engine with 180 hp, which is unique to production motorcycles.

Upon completion of the test process, production at the plant will begin this fall Upper Brough v French Toulouse. They will make only 100 copies, and each of them will be valid at least 108 thousand euros, to which duties must be added.
