Even though the season finally started last Sunday, it’s still unclear how many races there will be actually implemented this season. It is clear, however, that there will be fewer races than planned, and most of them are likely to take place without spectators in the stands.

Of course, that means an even bigger hole in the already empty cash registers some teams. Months of dormancy have burdened the budget. Liberty Medium she did help them with a cash injection, but that was not enough. The financial situation, especially of smaller teams, remains more than tense.

Former driver Red BullAh, Mark Webber, is in the webinar titled Lights Out: Return of Motorsport stressed the importance of keeping these teams in Formula 1. About McLarn and Williams, he said: "The fact that they stay in the competition is crucial for F1."

Williams became the supplier of batteries for the third generation of Formula E race cars a few days ago. They also competed for the job at McLarn.

"Unless there are smaller teams developing their own cars and taking care of the development, we have a big problem with the meaning of Formula 1," warns Webber. “We need McLaren and Williams. Both teams are extremely successful and extremely well-known brands, whether they are in the automotive sector or development. We should just look at what it all does Williams Advanced Engineering. We need them. ”

McLarn’s podiums in the first race of the season are pimples at the right time, Mark Webber believes.

McLaren is with the surprising steps v Spielberg last Sunday "now, of course, get momentum and even more motivation at the beginning of this season ”, analyzed by a former Formula 1 driver. “Timing for such success could not be better. Williams has a long way to go and I really hope they survive. ”
