New HYUNDAI TUCSON: Technologically advanced SUV with a RADICAL design

The new Tucson offers the most efficient line of powertrains in the compact SUV segment, including a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and a mild 48-volt hybrid.

Hyundai introduced a whole new one Tucson, adorned with a radical design and modern technology, and the Korean brand is convinced that the newcomer sets new standards in the segment compact SUVs. Furthermore Tucson offers the most efficient line of powertrains in its class, emphasizing Hyundai’s commitment to clean driving while maintaining true SUV character.

Of particular interest is the design of the front, which marks it frameless mask, in which they are also built day lights. When the car is turned off, it’s hard to figure out where the grille actually ends and where the lights start. The car's headlights are mounted separately, next to the bonnet. Even the lights on the back are perfect self-shaped concepts.

The drive will be provided by a number of conventional petrol and diesel engines as well electrified powertrains, everything from the mild hybrid, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. Unlike Kone novi Tucson it will not have a fully electric version.

The basic engines will be 1,6-liter turbo gasoline with 150 hp and a 1,6-liter diesel with 115 hp. These motors do not have "electric assistance". There will also be three mild hybrid versions on offer. These are 1,6-liter petrol engines with 150 and 180 hp and a diesel engine with 136 hp. It is also available classic hybrid version with a 1,6-liter engine and 230 hp, while the top of the range will be plug-in hybrid, whose power is unknown at this time. Almost all versions can be combined with all-wheel drive, and most also with automatic transmissions.

Hyundai has also released technical data showing that the most powerful hybrid will accelerate to 100 km / h in eight seconds and reaches a maximum of 193 km / h, and the slowest will be the base diesel with acceleration to 100 km / h in 12,1 seconds and a top speed of 175 km / h. Consumption data not yet published.

New Tucson is only slightly larger than its predecessor. It measures 450 cm in length, which is 2 cm more than its predecessor. It is 1,5 centimeters wider and five millimeters taller. As with its predecessor, the interior is quite spacious. In addition, passengers have in the back seats now even more space, and the trunk is significantly grown. Its volume depends on motorization. In the petrol version it amounts to 620 liters, for diesel engines 598 liters, for mild hybrid petrols 577 liters, for mild hybrid diesels 546 liters and for the classic hybrid version 616 liters. Diesel has less space due to the tank AdBlue, a mild hybrid due to batteries, and in the classic hybrid, the battery is under the rear seats, so it does not affect the size of the trunk.

The interior is too completely different from the one we have been accustomed to so far at Hyundai. They have digital instruments in front of the driver diagonal 10,25 inches, as well as a touch screen that is skillfully integrated into the center console and does not protrude above the armature. Below it are the buttons of the new three-zone air conditioning, and on the center console between the seats, the s version automatic transmission it does not have a gear lever, but the driver controls the gearbox with the help of buttons.

Like its predecessor, they will be at Hyundai also produced a new generation of the Tucson model in the Czech city Nightwear. Most versions are coming to showrooms by the end of this year. Only the plug-in hybrid version will have to wait until next year. Prices remain a mystery for now.
