The current technical director Andrew James, will step down at the end of next month Formulas 1, for which he has worked for the past 25 years. The decision to leave was made as part of the reorganization of the media and technology center at Biggins Hill.
James played an important role in introduction of a number of technical systems and the procedures that made Formula 1 as we know it today. Among other things, he helped build a state-of-the-art center for transmit dirk and Formula 1 helped solve many problems.
Among other things, he led the relocation of the media and technology center to Suzuki, when it's typhoon in 2019 jeopardized implementation Grand Prix of Japan. If James failed then, we would have to cancel the race.
Finally, he also helped equip Formula 1 for remote implementation TV broadcasting activities. At first, this was meant as temporary solution due to a new coronavirus pandemic, and could now become a permanent solution.
“While I was active in Formula 1, I had the privilege of having the opportunity to embark on a number of exciting projects with an exceptional team. I am very proud to have been a part of them, ” he says James. “I’m heading my way now, but I hope I’ve contributed my part to making F1 better today than it was a quarter of a century ago. I hope that F1 will continue to be a great product that inspires people all over the world. ”
He also paid homage to his former co-worker Ross Brawnwho said: “Andrew James was one of the pillars of our organization. In the last 25 years, he has made a huge contribution to the development of Formula 1. Without his knowledge, skills, enthusiasm and will, we would not be where we are today. ”
