"In a few previous cases, like last year in Monza or even in Baku this year, we didn't know how to take advantage of the opportunities offered because we weren't good enough or fast enough in the right place or because we made some operational mistakes," he says Poljak.
V Budapest however, the French took full advantage of the circumstances. But Budkowski warns that they do not intend to take over. “We realize we didn’t win because we beat all the other and faster cars around us, but because we had some luck with the circumstances,” acknowledges the team’s CEO Alpine.
This win makes it no less valuable, after all it was the first success of the team based in Enston after 2013. That’s when Kimi Raikkonen won the race for Australian GP, then still with a black and gold race car and Lotus logo.
Budkowski hopes the win will also boost team members as they develop the car for the 2022 v season Enston and a new powertrain in to Viry entered the final phase.
