END of sales story for Volkswagen ARTEON

Volkswagen today announced a new initiative to increase the profitability of the brand, according to which it is expected to delete some less profitable models.

The program is also connected with the victims, as it will VW focused mainly on models with a higher volume of sales and deleted some models, which do not achieve adequately high sales figures and profitability percentages.

Pri Volkswagen they did not specify which other models with low sales revenue would be discontinued, but they specifically mentioned the model Arteon. Its discontinuation comes as no surprise, as sales of this sleek sedan are down in the U.S. alone in 2022 by almost 69 percent (a total of 1.742 vehicles were sold there), which is only a fraction of the brand's total sales, which last year amounted to slightly more than 301.000 vehicles sold. Arteon sales did indeed increase by more than 2023 percent in the first quarter of 1.000, but VW only sold 528 of them in the U.S., so it's not exactly a wildly successful comeback.

At Volkswagen, they will also save money by reducing the number of configurations of their models.

According to the director of the brand by Thomas Schäfer will Volkswagen instead of Arteon focused on several other key models. The company is looking to reduce the complexity of its models as one way to achieve greater profits, including reducing the number of configuration options for each model. For example, VW ID.7 has as much as 99 percent fewer configurations than Seventh generation Golf.

Society wants too optimize capacity utilization of its factories in order to better respond to fluctuations in market demand.
