Disney will celebrate in 2023 100th birthday. And what better way to celebrate than with friends and other international cultural icons. Such as Vespa? It sounds funny, but they are a media company and a scooter manufacturer Piaggio in honor of Disney joined forces to create a special limited edition Disney Mickey Mouse Edition, based on the model Vespa Primavera.
Of course, this is not the first collaboration between to Disney in Vespa. If you watched Disney and Pixar film Luca from 2021, you probably remember the important role Vespa scooters played in the film. The story revolves around a fictional city portorosso, which is heavily based on Genoa. That's why it matches. But let's go back to 2023 and Disney Mickey Mouse Edition, which – as we have already mentioned – will be based on Vespa Primavera with 50, 125 or 150 cubic centimeters. They are absolutely iconic on a scooter round mirrors, which many had already unofficially called before this cooperation "Mickey Mouse mirrors". The fact that the rest of the color and graphics scheme follows suit makes visual sense in this case.
Disney Mickey Mouse Edition by Vespa then uses the colors most closely associated with Mickey and his clothes. The front fender is yellow, designed in the same color as Mickey's shoes. The base colors are black and red - black stands out on Mickey's design, and red on the shorts and straps. White accents like Mickey's gloves break up the whole pattern. Black and white drawings of Mickey are used as graphics on the front of the scooter and on the sides. It is also visibly imprinted on the black saddle Mickey Mouse's iconic signature. Some chrome and silver accents are retained, such as the saddle handle and exhaust cover.
