Miraculously, Dodge sold an all-new Viper this year

Production of this model officially ended in 2017.

It's been almost seven years since Dodge stopped producing Viper, but the brand continues to sell remaining stock. Stellantis has announced its sales results for the first quarter of 2024, and the data shows that in the first three months of the year, the automaker sold one Viper.

Dodge is also already halfway to equalization of sales figures of the 2023 model. It sold two last year, both in the last quarter.

It has been since the end of production Dodge only sold a handful of cars. Four were sold in 2021 and another four in 2020. None were sold in 2022, so this could be the start of a sales rebound. 🙂

Viper the third generation has been on sale since 2013, and for the first two years it was at Dodge referred to as the SRT Viper. Until August 2017, it was produced at the Dodge factory Conner Avenue Assembly in Detroit.

The automaker added an 8,4-liter V10 engine to the sinister look of the model, which initially produced 640 horsepower and accelerated to 100 kilometers per hour in 3,5 seconds. In 2015, the capacity increased to 645 hp.

The third generation Viper it never reached the same level of sales as previous generations. It had its best year in 2014 with 760 units, well below the more than 1.000 units achieved just after the turn of the century. The high-performance sports car may not have caught on with buyers in post-recession America, but it continues to capture the attention of buyers long after it Dodge finished production.
